Presenting Avid Multiplatform News Production Solutions

Do you want to stay ahead of the competition when you need to get your news story online or on-air? Then make sure you drop by the Avid booth (#SU902) at NAB 2016, where our presenters Craig Wilson and Chris Agos will show you some new, innovative ways to deliver breaking news as it unfolds, so that you can capture audiences across web and social media sites, as well as during your on-air broadcasts.

MediaCentral | UX

By using MediaCentral | UX, the web-based unified experience of the Avid MediaCentral Platform, you can access media and work on projects however, wherever, and whenever you want—even on your mobile device with Avid’s native iOS and Android apps, keeping your field teams in sync and enabling them to break stories from the scene.

During our main stage presentation, Be First with Breaking News, you’ll learn how you can prepare items for on-air, but also for social media channels, like Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. No need to use multiple tools to produce stories—with MediaCentral | UX you can publish to social media sites, your station website, and send stories to air.

Media Composer | Cloud

With Media Composer | Cloud, field reporters can access media stored on Avid NEXIS, our new shared storage platform, upload footage they have shot at the scene, and edit both local and remote video together in their sequence, all simultaneously and connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot. They can also see all the rest of the footage that’s back at the station that was shot by other crews.

MediaCentral | UX App

Thanks to the MediaCentral | UX App, journalists can see all of the news stories in their program rundown, amend them, or even write a new story directly from where it’s all happening. Any changes are reflected immediately to anyone connected to the newsroom system, regardless of their location. Plus, they can review any video on the system, which is really helpful when working on location. Field reporters can also use the app as a portable prompter.

Social Media

MediaCentral | UX lets journalists and producers easily post ‘breaking news’ to the station’s social channels and website with a single tool. All they need to do is type in a brief message and grab a still from the incoming video. That new message goes to an approval queue where it can be reviewed, edited, and approved by management before it gets posted online.

As you can see, Avid is transforming the multiplatform news production process completely by giving newsrooms the tools they need in this new era of journalism. Visit the Avid booth (#SU902) at NAB 2016 and get an exclusive look at our plans for the next generation newsroom and how the MediaCentral Platform will enable news teams to work in a more holistic story-centric fashion—where the story is at the heart of everything you do.
